I have been *so* stressed out lately – it’s all this responsibility and no one to really help out. The previous manager had to be let go for he just wasn’t very responsive and since then, just have been too busy to find a new one. And, an effective one just isn’t that easy to come by. Well, never thought that finishing an album would be this difficult. Only three of the twelve tracks can be called complete and that was great progress seeing how last night, only two tracks were done. I am way behind and the artwork still is yet to be finalized, sales and presales to distribution sites, promotional work, etc.., the list grows infinitely as I think about it – All this and only nine days to go. Nine days. It’s unheard of, and hopefully things just won’t flop and it all won’t be for nothing. Underestimating things and overall, it is enjoyable, but I never did imagine it to be so painstakingly draining. I now sit back in my chair as the sound engineer asks me, “What do you want to do? Well?”
“Give me a second,” I say. All I could do is look up at a light in the ceiling and exhale. (more…)
Firstly, let me state that I’ve never regarded myself as a political person. I’ve always been one of those types of people that turn away upon someone asking me whether I was Democrat or Republican – I would politely excuse myself with a shrug and hope that the conversation would then change topics for it was either this or whimper with sheer boredom if the person continued chatting away.

Back in 1998, on our frequent road trips down to New York City from Rochester, Elizabeth and I used to stop off at this particular Dunkin Donuts in the town of Horseheads, NY. I used to buy a regular coffee for myself and one of those special coffees for her – the ones with whipped cream on top. It was expensive, a little over two dollars at the time, but it was worth it just watching how happy she would be.
We must’ve taken this trip over a dozen times, and Elizabeth would act surprised each and every time.
So our days are jam-packed now pretty much 24 x 7. Megan is into the throws of Kindergarten and homework. Yeah, homework. They don’t mess around too much around here. They know what it takes to build a good educated Democrat here in California – that’s blue state humor. Well, all in all, Megan’s activities are under control and structured and doesn’t really take up too much time out of the day. The other 20 hours of the day are taken up by housework, work work, and taking care of Julian. He is growing rather quickly into a happy joyful little baby boy and we are grateful.
I haven’t written in a while and usually, there are a few reasons for my being so out of touch. Either I’ve been tremendously busy, or life has just gotten bad enough that I’ve decided to isolate away from sharing or documenting anything. Unfortunately, it’s due to both. Lessons learned, the last time this happened, I missed out on about four years of my life and part of me just knew that I can’t let that happen again.
