The Point Game
Alike many people, I occasionally take long road trips via automobile. Alike many people, I realize that this is sometimes a long and boring task. Unlike many people, I have devised a game to play with other drivers on the road to help pass the time. To give credit where credit is due -- growing up and learning how to drive in New York City has heavily influenced me in creation of this wonderful game. Let me warn you that this is no regular car game that people play; like the "Padiddle Game," where you count oncoming cars with one headlight.
Okay. Here is the objective of the game -- score more points than the other drivers on the road. Your opponents are the drivers who are travelling in the same direction you are. The following lists the rules for scoring:
- Add a point when you pass an opponent.
- Subtract a point when an opponent passes you.
- Subtract two points when you pass an opponent, and the opponent immediately passes you back.
Okay. I know the reality of it is that other drivers probably do not realize they are playing this game. Therefore, I am left with the perception that I win most of the time. So be it.
