’ve driven a car in a few places in America, and I have to admit
one thing. The place where the stupidest automobile drivers live is in Rochester,
New York. I do not know why this is. I am comparing this to driving
experiences in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, the boonies, etc.., We’re talking
about an entire spectrum of drivers and driving styles. I’ve heard stories of
people’s erratic driving styles down south, but I’ve yet to experience that.
Yes… Rochester, New York. You win. The place where the cost of living is 110% in comparison to the national average.
I think that there is a lack of a code for driving. Other areas have their codes; where all the drivers abide by a particular style of driving. There is no code in Rochester. This is not to say that people drive recklessly, nor offensively. People in Rochester, New York just drive plain stupidly. If you ever visit Rochester and rent a car, buy the $8.95 / day insurance. You will wish you had anyways. And, oh yes, check off the box on the rental agreement that states, "I will be driving in Rochester, New York."
