Elizabeth and I are getting back into shape, slowly but surely.
Actually, she is on a much more accelerated path. She has decided to throw the Slim Fast out the window and participate in an infamous Charlene-Bohannon-bodybuilding-strip-down-rip-out-the-body-fat diet and exercise plan.
There is one minor technicality.
Charlene has had the flu since the middle of the second week. And, yours truly has been stepping in as personal trainer and nutrition enforcer. It is quite fun; especially from this side of the fence. I get to guide her through hour-long neck-braking cardio-ish bodybuilding sessions every other day. And needless to say, I do not hold any grudges in references to things like her making me wash an extra sink full of dishes the night before. Really, I don't.
It has been fun. <evil grin>
Actually, Elizabeth has shown great improvement and I am proud of her. My reign ends on Thursday though when Charlene returns fully recovered.
Flip side - my progress is a little slower. It's not that I haven't been going to the gym and eating decently, I have been going too often, to the degree where I'm overtraining a little. My lower back went out the other day. And the odd thing is that I was not exerting myself during that time.
There was no initial pain, just a tingle noting that something was not right. The noticeable pain started about three hours afterwards. Elizabeth and I decided to head out for dinner: We have mastered the art of making restaurants prepare us food diet style; at least, we think they do. We arrived at the place and while I was exiting the car, a shooting pain traveled up the back of my left leg when I tried to step out. That sucked - big time. And needless to say, has put me in a rather fowl mood placing everyone in my way, in contempt of something one way or the other.
I am usually a gentleperson with a kind heart, but in this case, I have decided to make a list where I will be placing a few people on, and when recovered, I will return, and righteously kick their butt. I said I was a little fowl.
We will start with the lazy hostess who I had to hassle, while I was standing there aching, to get us a seat not right in front of the entrance. We then move on to the couple who sideswiped me after noticing I was limping too slowly in front of them while we were leaving the restaurant. Elizabeth for driving erratically smashing me sideways into the door on the way home. Beejing for continually jumping on my nerve-racking left leg while arriving home. The list continues.
Okay, I'm a little er . off. Keeping the attitude in check, I realize I just don't like being injured. Maybe it's a pride thing, an ego thing, or some other in-depth psychological reason. Or, maybe it just plain freaking SUCKS limping around everywhere. *breath* okay, I am better.
Two days have passed since and my list of people to righteously kick their butt has grown ten-fold, and not in a rational sense. The list has been expanded to now include radio DJs and people starring in television commercials.
But, my back does feel tons better. I no longer have the shooting pain, just a nagging stiffness in my upper butt when I get up after sitting down for a while.
I have started to put more pics of myself on this site. There is a pretty funny one can be seen after supplying a comment; yes, it is a bribe.
